Almeta Tweed, 78, of 1 Tall
Oaks Drive, Candler, died Sunday,
December 21, 2003, at her home.
Mrs. Tweed was born in
Buncombe County and was a
daughter of the late Harley Snelson
and Julia Sluder. She was also
preceded in death by her husband,
Ernest Tweed who died in 1996, a
son, Robert Tweed, Jr., a brother,
Junior Snelson, a grandson Victor
Tweed, and a granddaughter Tracy
Renee McDonald.
She was retired from
Singer Kearfott and was a member of
First Baptist Church, Swannanoa.
Surviving are two
daughters, Patricia T. Plemmons and
her husband Donald of Alpharetta,
GA and Shirley T. McDonald of
Oteen; a son Larry Tweed, Sr. and
his wife Brenda of Candler; two
sisters, Juanita Warren of Candler
and Anita Smith of Daytona Beach,
FL; six grandchildren, Jeff Tweed,
Vicki King, Wendy Green, Eric
McDonald and Jennifer and Donny
Plemmons; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at
1:00 pm Tuesday in the Patton
Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral
Home with the Revs. Dennis Thurman
and Jim Moore officiating. Burial will
be at the Western Carolina State
Veterans Cemetery.
Her family will receive
friends one hour prior to the service at
the funeral home and at other times
will be at the residence, 1 Tall Oaks
Drive, Candler.

Was so very sorry to hear of the loss of Almeta. She was always such a special person and loved everyone! She certainly will be missed. Just know we are all praying for the entire family during this very difficult time.
