Andrew Adelard Girard, Jr., 67, of Asheville, NC passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Adelard Girard, Sr. and Viola Dunlap Girard, by his sisters Brenda Markus and Jacqueline Girard, and by his grandson Chris Girard.

Mr. Girard served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service. He became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses when he was baptized on December 18th, 1982, teaching many others the truth about the Bible and the hope it provides for mankind. He loved all things trains and especially his many model trains and train sets that he built from scratch.

He is survived by 6 children; sons, Andrew A. Girard III, Alexander E. Girard, and Nicholas D. Girard; stepchildren Patsy McEnroe, Shelly McLeod, and David Groomas; 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service is being planned for 3:30 p.m. January 14, 2023 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road.

    Life began for Andy and me & Ron because unbeknownst to either one of us until December 18,1982 we all became woke when we were dedicated to Jehovah in water baptism. Ever since that day our love for one another will never stop. All who loved Andy knows our future. Let us all praise Jah.
