Asheville ~ Annie Quinn Cole, 86, formerly of Main Street in Asheville passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Laurels of Summit Ridge. She was a native of Buncombe County and was the daughter of the late David and Bertha Butler Quinn and was preceded in death by her husband, Snowden Cole in 2000. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and was a member of Reynolds Baptist Church. She is survived by five daughters, Shirley Cole of Asheville, Emma Lee Bucklew of Swannanoa, Rita Cole of Arden, Nadine Parham and Snowdena Scott and a son, Sam Cole all of Asheville; a sister, Helen Childers of Fletcher; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. The family would like to give special recognition and thanks to the staffs of the Laurels at Summit Ridge and to Care Partners Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reynolds Baptist Church, 520 Rose Hill Road, Asheville, NC 28803, The Laurels at Summit Ridge, 100 Riceville Road, Asheville, NC 28805 or to Care Partners Hospice, P.O. Box 25338 Asheville, NC 28813.
