April: The sweetest, most selfless lady, she was a girl raised by strong parents, grew up trying her best to keep up with her brothers.
Her heart took her into the medical field where for years she worked in labor and delivery at Mission Hospital. She ended up furthering her education to a Certified First Assistant and helping many people in the OR/Trauma Team. She continued her surgical training for Advent Health working in the OR and becoming the Robotics Coordinator.
But April’s greatest accomplishment was becoming a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was the very centerpiece of the family, helping everyone every day with something. She was always the one in the tough times of life to pray her way through.
If you were fortunate enough to know her, you know she was selfless, kind, and sincere.
Heaven got a good one this time.
April leaves behind a legacy in her family, and beyond those directly related to her, countless extended family, friends, and patients that will have a place in their heart that can’t be filled without her presence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NICU Helping Hands, or the Autism Society of North Carolina.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
I will always cherish all the moments we spent together, all the laughter we shared, all the stories we told. You have changed me forever, and I will never forget you. Farewell, my friend

The Partain Family
I literally learned of April’s passing last night and it shook me. I hadn’t seen April in close to 30 years but she was part of s ver short list of those I kept up with on social media. I remember in high school how sweet she was… Seemed that never changed. I remember sharing countless laughs and kind conversations with her. I am sad today. I send my heartfelt condolences to her entire family.. Close and extended. Celebrate her forever. She deserves it. I’ll catch you down the road, April. Rest easy.
*a very short list (sorry)
