Arden – Atlas Ray Presley, 70, of 50 Baldwin Road, died Sunday, October 21, 2007, at the John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Burnsville, she was the daughter of Ruth Ray of Burnsville and of the late Frank Ray. She was the wife of the late Roy Allen Presley, who died in 2001, and was a member of Emma’s Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Presley Schneider; a step-daughter, Debra Sharpe; a step-grandson, Brian Sharpe; five sisters, Gertrude Stone, Joyce Parham, Joncilee Davis, Elsie Huff and Lucille Powell and three brothers, Addison, Bobby and Walter Ray. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Frankie Self, Edith Yelton and Inez Ray. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Calvary Episcopal Churchyard conducted by the Rev. David Warren. The family will be at the home on Baldwin Road and requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center, P.O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  5. Atlas was a member of our 1955 Leicester High School class and I have thought of her often through the years and talked to her a couple of years ago prior to our 50th Reunion. We were all so sorry she could not join us.
