Barbara Ann Yearout Blackmon, 73, of 10 Virginia Ave., Asheville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Febuary 18, 2009. Barbara was born on July 21, 1935, to the late George and Bessy Yearout. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Ronald Blackmon. She worked as an EKG technician with St. Joseph's Hospital, and was a member of Crossroads Assembly of God. She is survived by her eight children, Ronald Blackmon, of Candler, Diane O'Dell and husband Joe, of Easton, PA, Deborah Howard and husband Forrest, of Asheville, Donna Westall and husband Dennis, of Old Fort, Richard Blackmon, of Crofton, MD, Susan Morrow and husband Patrick, of Asheville, Sharon Roberts, of Candler, and Mary Jackson and husband Todd, of Sunny View, NC; sister, Katherine G. Capps, and brother, George W. Yearout, both of Asheville; 20 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
