Barbara H. Travis, 90, of Asheville, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at the Oaks at Sweeten Creek.
Mrs. Travis was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh A. Travis, and by a daughter, Barbara Ann Strickland.
Surviving are three daughters, Geraldine McClanahan of Prince Frederick, MD, Brenda Charlene Rosenberger of Lusby, MD, and Marguerite McClanahan of Asheville; two sons, Stephen Albert Travis of Lusby, MD and Kenneth William Travis of Silver Spring, MD; twenty grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Oakley United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Don Newman officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, where Mrs. Travis will remain until being placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.

I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed coming to see Mrs. Travis. I laughed alot with her. She also shared her family with me and that was a special gift. My thoughts and prayers are with your whole family.
