Greg and I were so sorry to hear about the passing of Barbara. We have such fond memories of both of your parents and all of your family. They were both wonderful people, and as adults, Greg and I got to know them better, as we took care of their home in Frontenac when they went out of town. Also, they were great friends of my parents, and I remember being with your family often. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you, and we know that your Mother lived a long, happy life. Thinking of you all!
Barbara, you were my second mother. How joyous it was to spend time with you in your home when I was child, when I was a young adult, and when you came to Colorado to visit your beautiful family. I’m sending you this note just to tell you how much I miss your son and my brother. He was taken from us way too soon, he didn’t get to experience the Hypes/Hellebush longevity, and that was so unfortunate. You raised a young man with the biggest heart, kindest disposition and booming laugh we could have all hoped for, and for that I cherish you as a mother and a friend. I hope the three of you are sitting back with a couple of savory martinis with Blair in the background saying “A man’s got to believe in something…” Well dear lady you know the rest. I’m looking forward to seeing you all on the other side…
