Barbara Lancaster Branch, 73, of 14 Chateau Place, Asheville, died Saturday, September 30, 2000, at The Summit.

Mrs. Branch was born in Lenoir City, TN, and was a daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Irvin Lancaster. She was a former employee of Pearlman’s Furniture Co., and more recently assisted her husband, Fred Branch, Sr., who died in 1992, in the operation of Cindy’s Music Store, a dealer of records and tapes in Hendersonville.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Notestine of Asheville and Jaime K. Branch of Nashville, TN; a son, Fred Branch of Nashville; two granddaughters, Olivia and Maggie Notestine; a sister, Betty Hartmann of Phoenix, AZ; and two half-sisters, Nancy Barton of Middlesboro, KY and Sharon Swift of Peoria, Mich.

Family and friends may call at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue all day Tuesday.

  7. I am so sorry about the loss of your mother. I used to prepare Barbara’s tax returns and we became good friends. I also work at Asheville Gastroenterology and had seen Barbara recently. I did not know that her sickness had progressed as much as it had.
    I have your family in my thoughts and prayers.

    I was so very sorry to hear about your Mom. I sent a card to you at your Mom’s address but it might not reach you guys so hopefully this will get forwarded to you. I have very fond memories of visiting your home when we were kids, Jaime, and your Mom is certainly among those fond memories. Please know that our thoughts are with you.
