Barbara Anne Looney, 67, of 111 Maple Avenue, Candler, died Thursday, March 7, 2002, in an Asheville hospital.
Mrs. Looney was born in Bryson City and was a daughter of the late William Jesse and Bonnie Catherine Sawyer Patterson. She was a former employee of Cutler-Hammer and was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, William Frederick Looney; one daughter, Teresa Anne Rose of Arden; and one sister Alene Smith of Asheville.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Oak Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Her family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and request that memorials be made to Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 277 Oak Hill Road, Candler, NC 28715, or to the Kidney Foundation, care of Mountain Kidney Associates, 10 McDowell Street, Asheville, NC 28801.
