I’m saddened to hear about the loss of such a wonderful lady. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
I truly wish there was something that could be done or said to remove the pain and sorrow that you are feeling. I understand what you are going through and hope that you all can find comfort in each other, your family and extended family. She is at peace now.
My old friend, Barbara, is responsible for my daughter, Catherine’s success in college and her entering a Master’s degree program. She was a student at the Reading Clinic for about three years and gained self-confidence and motivation in her academic persuits. She now works as a professional development supervisor for a non-profit organization which serves pre-school students and teachers. My thanks is given to her every time I teach a Recipe for Reading class for the parents of my students. Barbara taught me so much about not only the joy of finding the key that unlocks a child’s mind to reading but also the support that parents need to help their children succeed in life. I am so saddened by her passing. She was my mentor as she worked alongside Joan Lance. I will always speak her name when I teach my classes.
She was a great band director and chorus teacher.
Helped me become the band’s first tympani player.
She also helped me get my first drumset and launched me into playing in combos for CHS talent shows, weddings and dances.
