Such a precious lady and gentle soul. You will be missed so much but so glad your suffering is over. You were such a warrior in your health problems but you never stopped smiling and praising God. You were our hero. Sending prayers to your family and we’ll definitely keep Velvie in our thoughts and love her as always.
For Belvie:
There was a purple mountain flower
that danced upon the breeze,
Through fiercest winds and downpours
she stood high above the weeds.
With bare feet planted firmly
and her face turned to the sun,
She welcomed every shadow
but feared the dark of none.
She crafted fields of beauty—
with hands that knew delight,
In every thread and paper bloom
she stitched the world more bright.
Her laughter lit the valley,
her kindness knew no end,
She gave her love so freely—
mother, grandmother, sister, friend.
She nourished hearts with comfort,
with wisdom calm and deep,
She held us through our sorrows
and soothed our souls to sleep.
She sang a song of glory,
of joy and love adorning,
She sang until sweet mercy
carried her into the morning.
So let us not be broken,
though we weep and miss her so—
For the flower lives eternal
in the hearts that she helped grow.
