Asheville Butterfly TrailA native of Dallas, NC, he graduated from Dallas High School and went on to Western Carolina College where he graduated in 1958.
He worked in the finance business for 31 years, originally with Home Finance, which later became a division of Barclay’s Bank. More recently he sold insurance for State Farm before retiring in April 1999.
He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Nativity.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Hilda C. Pasour; a son, Joe Pasour and his wife, Julia of Fletcher; two granddaughters, Jodi and Jackie Pasour; and a cousin, Betty Petty.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark E. Fitzsimmons officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7- 8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.

I worked with Bennett in the 1970’s at American Credit Company in Marietta, Georgia. He was the most mild mannered, easy to get along with boss I ever had the pleasure to work with.
He was a very special person to us and we’ll always remember him with that big smile on his face.
Our love to the family. We too will miss him.
