Betty Moss McGuinn

Mrs. McGuinn was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Jacob Lloyd Hamlin and the late Hattie Lillie West Hamlin Kuykendall. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Moss, a daughter, Betty Weaver, two brothers, James L. Hamlin and Conard William Hamlin, and a sister, Clara Bell Rossi.
Mrs. McGuinn was retired after 25 years as a CNA with Memorial Mission Hospital and more recently worked for Mr. Beard Banks of Haw Creek.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Curtis McGuinn; four daughters, Patricia Darlene Massey, Kathy Luther, Susan Moss Young, and Pamela Jean Moss, all of Asheville; a sister, Mary Hamlin Thomas of Asheville; a brother, Jessie Odell Hamlin of Asheville; twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm Sunday at Lewis Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rossi, Jerry and Wayne Thomas, David Ballew, John Towles, and Bobby Goforth.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Saturday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Even though I never had the chance to meet Betty, I know from Louetta she was a wonderful person. She will be sorely missed. I’ll continue to keep your family in my prayers.
