Betty Shipman Spivey, 85, of Asheville, died on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Asheville Health Care Center.
A Buncombe Co. native, Mrs. Spivey was the daughter of the late George and Annie Shipman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Spivey.
She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Spivey is survived by her daughter Judy Bond (Jerry); son, Larry Spivey (Tina); four grandchildren, Jeremy Bond, Jamey Bond (Amanda), Melanie Stevens (Daniel), and Matt Osborne; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mrs. Spivey will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Rd. with the Revs. Mark Chase and James Lamb officiating. Interment will follow at Elk Mountain Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
