Blanche Adkins Ledbetter, 86, of Candler, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Yancey Co., Blanche was a daughter of the late William Burgin and Ercie Phillips Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Shafter Ledbetter, Jr.; son-in-law, Mike Harris; and brothers, Clifton, Clyde, Warren, Duff and H.B. Adkins.
Mrs. Ledbetter retired from Gerber, where she worked in quality control. She was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church, and had previously been a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Roberts (Terry), Pam Chandler (Greg) and Janice Harris; son, Lynn Ledbetter (Sylvia); sister, Sue Lewis (Doug); brother, Douglas Adkins (Delores); eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ledbetter will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. Pastor Dennis Thurman and Rev. Dr. Carson Moseley will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

I did not hear about your mom until late yesterday. I am so sorry for your loss. She was my second mama when I was growing up. She is up there with my mama who passed in December. Is there any thing I can do. I love all of you so much. You were my babies for so many years. Blanche will be missed by all. She had such a beautiful person, always offering to help. I can go see her when I visit mama and daddy at Forest Lawn. I love the picture of here. Always looked e same, beautiful.
