Calvin A. Camby

Calvin A. Camby, 91, of Fairview, went to his Heavenly home Monday, June 5, 2023 at his residence.

Born in Green Hill, NC, he was the husband of Carra “Libby” (Bridges) Camby of Fairview, and the son of the late Wilbur and Jane (Hollifield) Camby.

He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Calvin was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fairview.

In addition to his wife of 67 years, he is survived by a son, Douglas Camby and his wife Tammy; a granddaughter, Holly Styles and her husband Josh; one great-grandson, Korbin Styles; one brother, Kenneth Camby, all of Fairview; and three sisters: Billie Gibbons and her husband Keith of Fairview, Ava Lou Bass of Weaverville, and Carolyn Williams of Sumter, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fairview with Pastors Robert Ponder and Joe Harding officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 AM.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Josh Styles, Kevin Parries, Travis Earley, Brian Ponder, Clay Martin, and Tony Martin. Korbin Styles will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family would like to thank Four Seasons Hospice for their loving care of Calvin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carolina Village Employee Appreciation Fund, 600 Carolina Village Rd., Hendersonville, NC 28792.
