Although its been about 2 months since you left to go home to heaven.. There is NEVER a day that goes by that your not here in my heart or in my thoughts.. I miss you Daddy.. and our days of buttermilk cornbread.. I will see you again and that will be such a joyful day when my daddy is standing there with that special Grin he had to pat me on my head again and ask where’s Fireball been?? Until then I will hold our memories very close to me..
Jeanette…
Oh how I long to go back to the days of Gashes Creek Road…your Mother and Dad, the Basham’s, Carol Bailey, the Jones’, Alice & Bud Biddix, the Dellingers, the Dotson’s, the Campbells, the Hipps’ and especially my Mamother & G-Daddy…Ruth & Frank Teague. Just wanted to share with everyone our final goodbye as it was said at the gravesite..
CALVIN…A husband, dad, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.
A caring, giving and tender hearted man.
Always worried about others and what he could do for them. Always speaking about the good old days, how hard the family had it while he was growing up but also remembering the ‘good times’ that they shared. ‘Dad was a real joker, catching you off guard and then just grinning about it.’
He enjoyed talking about his family but most of all about his precious grandchildren. Shawn and Shay who attend college, something he never had the opportunity to do. LaMar, a fireman who his pappaw would see on a call and driving that fire truck, he would grin from ear to ear with great pride. Kevin, the grandson that had just joined the Black Mtn Fire Department and who is ‘Calvin made over’. Breanna, last but not least, the only granddaughter and the star in his eye, the bubbly little artist in the family.
And his wife, Jeannetta, his love, his life & soulmate.
Goodbye our precious…

DAD,things changed so much after you left.I miss you so much and your silly ways.I long for a hug, a pat on the back and that smile. It hurts not having you around. You & Mom take care of each other. And of course B.J. I bet he wants his daily walks, right? I miss that little booger very, very much. He found his way into my heart right away.He was with us for 9 months, but lived like a King. I had planned a big Christmas for him, but God had other plans. It broke my heart to lose him. Dad he ran free in the back yard and I put aside his crate, so he slept on his own bed at the foot of mine, free to roam as he pleased.Because of a bad tooth (had a heart mumer so could not have teeth cleaned) he ate can food.Oh boy, he loved that. And guess what, him & Chewy got along after all these years. I truly loved B.J.He likes his walks as you know so walk him alot.DAD, I love you!!!
