Celestine Presley Rhodarmer, 89, of Asheville, died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Stepp Presley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Rhodarmer, who died in 1978 as well as a son, Ray Presley. Celestine was a past state president of Home Extension Services, active in the VFW auxiliary and the Skyland Fire Department auxiliary. She is survived by two sons, Larry Rhodarmer and his wife, Kathy, of Candler and Charles Rhodarmer and his wife, Debbie, of Hickory; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Presley, of Candler; one sister, Irene Presley, of Asheville; four grandchildren, Jennifer Clark, Steven Rhodarmer, Joe and Richard Presley as well as five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Clyde, NC. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund c/o Home Trust Bank, PO Box 929 Clyde, NC 28721.

  1. Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers. Celestine was a very sweet, sweet lady. We are so sorry we will be unable to be there Monday or Tuesday. But, know we will continue to remember you all in our prayers over next days and weeks. Charlie, Debbie, Jennifer and Steven we love you dearly and so sorry that you are having to go thought this.

  3. Celestine was such a precious lady. Always smiling. It meant so much to me that she came to my mama’s funeral last year. Everyone who knew her was truly blessed. Take comfort in every treasured memory.
