Charles Herbert Freeman, 79, of Candler, died on Friday, January 11, 2019.
Born in Atlanta, GA, on January 23, 1939, and raised in Conyers, GA, Charles was a son of the late Newell Edwin and Loretta Catherine Tutweiler Freeman. He was also preceded in death by his former wife and dear friend, Marie Fullerton Freeman and his second wife, Pamela Ellege Freeman.
Charlie served our country in the U.S. Navy. He worked with Hughes Aircraft in California. He and Marie traveled the country then settled in Candler where he worked at American Enka and they raised their sons.
He is survived by his sons, Ty C. Freeman (Michelle), of Raleigh, and Jay E. Freeman (Freddy), of Greenwich, NY; and his precious grandchildren, Marlee, Calleigh and Jayce.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family. A reception and remembrance will be held there on what would have been his 80th birthday, Wednesday, January 23, at 3:00 p.m.
So sorry for this.
Charlie was a good friend and my only brother-in-law. I know he’s been missing Marie and I hope he’s now traveling in peace and has plenty of science fiction to read. His 80th birthday is a fitting time for farewell… I wish I could be there.
