Ska-yah, Uncle Pete. We’ll miss you!
Terri and Bob, Both Gaines and I have you in our hearts and prayers. Know we love you and Jonathon. What a handsome man your Dad was and such a kind smile just like yours. I know you know he is with Christ our savior and is spreading that beautiful smile wide as he looks down upon all his family as his plays and loves in God’s castle. May you hold his spirit ever so gently in your heart forever. Much Love, Sandy and Gaines
So sorry to hear about Mr. George; he was a wonderful man. You’re in our prayers.
Family and Friends
Linda and I were blessed to interact with Pete and many of you over the years. We know his situation is ‘far better’ now. He was a good and faithful servant of Christ.
God Bless,
Bob and Linda Legg
Pete George was a great influence in my life. I was always amazed at how much of the Bible he had committed to memory. I believe God used Mr. George to challenge and encourage me to begin to study and memorize God’s word. I am forever thankful.
Dear Vicki, Leah, and Terri,
I am so blessed to have been able to share in your dads life at Eden Terrace. He was such a Godly man who not only loved God’s children but also loved the beauty of the world that he lived in. I know that he is celebrating with Jesus today. I have each of you in my prayers.
Mr. Pete was the shining example of Christ. I was privileged to know him through Harrison Publishing Company in Asheville for a number of years. Mr. Pete would present devotions to our employees. May you find comfort in knowing Mr. Pete is reaping his rewards. May Christ be with each of you during this time.
Dear Family and Friends,
Pete is at the top of my list of admired people I have known. Although he was a genuinely fine person who I liked to be around, what was most impressive about him was the steadfast dedication and application of beliefs and principles to his daily life. To me, he set the standard for actually living what he believed.
I consider myself fortumate that he was a part of my family and life for so many years.
To Pete George’s family….. I was saddened to hear about Pete’s passing. I will forever remember Pete at Arden Presbyterian Church as a friendly, kind and welcoming person. My husband, Larry, and I thought Pete was a fine man and enjoyed his smiling face. We felt honored to have known him. May God guide your days as you grieve his death. God Bless each one of you…..

Leah-I’m praying for you and your family.

Pete was a spiritual giant who influenced my life and the life of my late husband, Bob. When Bob was stationed in Naples, Italy, Pete was Director of the Christian Servicemen’s Center, which became our home-away-from home. We began memorizing scripture and grew in the Lord. We enjoyed trips with Pete and Marie, who became like brother and sister to us. I know Pete is rejoicing in heaven and I envision that he and my Bob are having a wonderful time of reunion.
My prayers are with you all.
DEAR GIRLS,
YOUR DAD WAS A SPECIAL MAN THAT ALLOWED GOD TO USE HIM IN TO LEAD OTHERS TO THE LORD. HOW MANY OF US HE SAVED,ONLY GOD KNOWS. THANK YOU FOR SHARING HIM WITH US,MAC
You were my baby brother and one of the greatest joys of my life. You were almost like my own child. When you were smaller, I took care of you. There’s so much I could say, it’s hard to break it down. I am so proud of the great man you became and of the godly influence over all who knew you. I’ll hold you in my heart until I see you again. Love, your sister Margaret
Our dearest Uncle Pete,
Your loving, smiling face will be greatly missed. We know you are rejoicing as you see Jesus, whom you served whole-heartedly while here on this earth. You were a hero of the faith to us as we were all growing up. You will be missed at our Thanksgiving reunions but we take great comfort in the fact that we will all share in the greatest reunion ever one day. We love you. (Vickie, Leah & Terri-our prayers are with you and we love you all.)
Vicki, Leah, and Terri:
I am sorry to hear about your father’s passing. He was only a Godly man, but also a real person who lived life. I’ll never forget the fun times he took me with you guys to youth group — even in the snow & bad weather…I am so grateful for him & others like him that not only talk about being a Christian but also live up to it in a real way….he was an influencial part of my growing up with a spiritual foundation that has now enabled me to give back to those less fortunate and to help others suffering from pain….
I know he will be missed.
Uncle Pete, what a memory we shared when you drove me up to Pisgah on the back of your motorcycle!! I love you!!! My love to all the family, He was such an awesome man!!!! Love you
Terri, Leah and Vickie I just wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear about your dad. He was inspiration to many people including me. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I would love to see you all sometime. God Bless, Suzanne Chastain
So sad to hear of the passing of Pete. He was a good friend to my late husband and I. We have great respect for him and his many avenues of ministry. His kind, joyful spirit will be missed.
Poppa Pete lived through Leah’s descriptions and stories. Although I never got to meet him, I felt I knew him. Perhaps his best legacy is that he will continue to live through Marie, Vickie, Leah, Terri and their families. Through them, his ministry is far from finished. Dan and I are praying peace for your hearts in Poppa Pete’s absence.
Leah, Terri, and Vickie,
I was saddened to hear of your dad’s passing but know he is in the arms of The Lord. I’ll always remember him from church; a godly man carrying his Bible and always smiled and gave such friendly greetings. And as Youth minister. I missed him at church in these last years but am glad he was close to you girls in Spartanburg, but I know you were ALWAYS close, as a family and spiritually. It’s so hard to lose our loving parents, but they are in Jesus’ care til we join them in heaven. My prayers are with you all.
Lynn
