Clafton M. Hinkle, widow of Joseph B. Hinkle, age 89, passed on March 2, 2017. She is survived by sons, Joe and Mason; daughter-in-law, Melissa; and grandchildren, Jacob (Bonnie), Kristin and Mason (Shay). Clafton has requested a private funeral at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St Jude's Chldrens Hospital or Four Seasons Hospice of Franklin, NC in Clafton's name. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

  1. We just recently learned of Clafton’s passing, and will always remember her as a truly elegant Southern Lady and a wonderful friend and neighbor, here in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family as you honor and remember her.

  2. Clafton was my dearest next door neighbor anyone could ask for. We both loved gardening and hanging over the fence chatting. She was a person I want to emulate. I plan to volunteer for the Salvation Army on the coldest day of the year,in front of our Harris Teeter. She did it a couple of years and I couldn’t believe it. She was a wonderful person, friend, and neighbor. She always made me laugh while sitting on her swing and watching her fish.Also, she LOVED to bake and WE ALL loved that!
    I will miss you dearly good friend!
