CLARA BELLE BRUCE FAIRVIEW – Clara Belle Bruce, 79, of Charlotte Hwy., died Monday, May 9, 2011, at the John F. Keever Solace Center. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Lora Merrill Cauble. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John William Bruce who passed away in 2009; sister Wilma Owenby; and brothers Billy Cauble and Carroll Cauble. Mrs. Bruce is survived by a daughter, Sheila Robinson and husband Kerry of Fairview; sons Mike Bruce and wife Karen of Oakley, and Jerry Bruce and wife Carolyn of Arden; grandchildren Gary Bruce of Asheville and Robert Wolfe of Arden; sister Martha Wilson and husband Ray of Fairview; and brothers Wilton Cauble and wife Carrie of Asheville and Frank Cauble and wife Margarita of Sebring, Florida. A funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Tunnel Road chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. At other times they will be at the home of Mrs. Bruce. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family expresses special thanks to the Hope Women's Cancer Care Center and to CarePartners Hospice. Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  5. MIKE,KAREN,GARY AND FAMILY SO SORRY TO HEAR THE PASSING OF CLARA. SHE WAS SUCH A SWEETHEART, I REMEMBER CLARA AND JOHN GOING TO ALL THE BALL GAMES FOR THE YOUNG AND THE OLDER KIDS, BRINGING THEY’RE CHAIRS AND CHEERING THEM ON, THERE WAS NEVER A BALL GAME WITHOUT CLARA AND JOHN. BOTH WILL BE TRULY MISSED.
