Clara Brookshire Doll

Clara Cleo Brookshire Doll, 97, of 7 Brookshire Road, Leicester, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at The Laurels of Greentree Ridge. A native of Buncombe County, she was born on July 24, 1912 to the late Robert Nelson and Maggie Smith Brookshire. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Kay Doll, who died in 1995 and two sisters, Christine Brookshire and Reva Murray and a brother, Bron Brookshire. Mrs. Doll was a graduate of Cecils Business College and worked for a while in Asheville before transferring to Washington, DC. While in Washington she attended Georgetown University. As Air Force Systems Command Forms Manager at Andrews Air Force Base, Mrs. Doll traveled extensively throughout the United States where she helped conduct seminars at various air force bases. Survivors include two sisters, June Brookshire and Maxine Brookshire and a niece, Eleanor Murray, all of Leicester. Graveside services will be 4:00 pm Friday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Reverend Stan Welch officiating.

To all the family:I am so sorry for your lost.i wanted you to know that your in my thoughts and prayers.I came to know Miss Clara that,s what I called her during her stay at the Laurels.She was a wonderful lady and I will miss her very much.May God be with you and know that we will see her again in Heaven someday.I LOVED HER.

  2. I am very sorry to see her go but I am happy that she is in a better place and no longer suffering.I was her cna on some days at the laurels of greentree ridge and from what I knew of her she was a very sweet lady. May god bless.

  3. I am greatly saddened at the news of our loss of Clara Doll. I served with her for a number of years at HQS AFSC at Andrews AFB. An energetic and knowledgable lady, she was much resepected by all who knew her I wish to add my statement of condolences for her grieving survivors.
