Clara Gilbert Henson, 71, of 51 Long Cove Road, Candler, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Pisgah Manor Health Care.
A native of Grovetown, GA, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Vera Rushton Gilbert. She had worked at American Enka and was retired from Aston Park Health Care.
Survivors include her husband, Jasper Henson and a sister, Betty Morgan of Arden.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Sprinkle officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 pm Friday prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Glady Baptist Church, c/o Rev. Charles Sprinkle, 381 Reeves Cove Road, Candler, NC 28715.

I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to share Clara’s last days. She was a beautiful person and my heart goes out to the family. She called me back to her room when I started home and thanked me for being good to her. Little did I know God had given her a sign of eternal happiness without any more pain. Her suffering days were over by the time I came back the next morning. Thanks for giving me the chance to know someone so special.

Clara said you were scared. I hope she’s comforting you now. It was truly my pleasure to have worked with her for the time I did at Pisgah Manor as her therapist. I’m sorry I couldn’t get away on Friday for the funeral, I wanted to though. Please stop by and say hello some time.
