Clara Sue Smathers, 88, of Candler, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Stone Creek Health and Rehab.
A native of Buncombe Co., Clara was a daughter of the late Branson and Mattie Morgan Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coyle F. Smathers.
Surviving is her daughter, Sandra Kaye Smathers; sons, Richard F. Smathers (Betty); and brothers, Lonnie Davis (Shirley) and Henry Davis.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Ty Allen officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue.

Clara was a sweet beautiful lady when I was just a teenager going to Pisgah Baptist church. Always smiling. Great memories.
