Resided in:
Fairview, NC
Claudette Carol Hamlin, 81, died Friday, January 8, 2016, at her sister's home in Maiden.
Miss Hamlin was born in Yancey County and was a daughter of the late Mae Huntsinger Hamlin and Oather Hamlin. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Sheri Nester and a brother, Jimmy Hamlin.
She is survived by sisters, Bobbie Camby of Fairview , Wyoma (Bunny) Burke and her husband, Robert, of Maiden, and Helen Edmonds of Atlanta; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Even though Claudette had physical and mental challenges during her life, she was blessed with a youthful loving spirit. She laughed easily and was obsessed with order. Her presence reminded us frequently about the simple things in life that matter the most. She raised our awareness of the many blessings we have been given over the years, one of which was Claudette.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Emma's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The on-line register is available at www.grocefuneralhome.com.

The family of Timothy Floyd send their heart felt condolences in the loss of Miss Claudette , we thoroughly enjoyed worshipping with her, when she visited with Miss Helen ,Donna and Reinhart. I know she will be missed.
Claudette will be missed by all she touched with her innocence. May God bring peace and comfort to the sisters during this difficult time. All of the sisters( Bobbie,Bunny and Helen) made many sacrifices in order to give Claudette a safe home to live her life with each one of them.
Bob, thanks for loving Claudette and providing a special place for her to live. God’s blessings!
Bunny, Helen and Bobbie, please accept my sympathy for your loss of Claudette. I shall always remember her as as being a loving person who dearly loved her family. Please know that all of you shall be in my heart, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Her photograph in the newspaper quickly caught my attention~~a lovely photo just as I remember her and her beautiful smile.
