Claudia “Dianne” (Owenby) Hendley, 71, of Fairview, died unexpectedly Monday, July 10, 2023.
Born in and a native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Andy Claude and Pearleen May (Freeman) Owenby. Dianne was also preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Dakota Owenby; two sisters: Betty Louise Barker and Dorothy Marie Shoff; and three brothers: Andy Claude Owenby, Jr., Paul Freeman Owenby, and Benjamin Jay Owenby.
Dianne was retired from Ball Brothers Corporation.
Dianne is survived by a son, Christopher Scott Owenby of Fairview; two grandsons: Lucas Hoyle of Fairview and Dalton Channey of New Jersey; a brother, George R. Owenby and his wife Beverly of Fairview; a sister, Marilyn O. Ledford and her husband Larry of Bent Creek; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Hill Connor Family Cemetery in Bat Cave with Pastor Todd Royal officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Fairview Baptist Church.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
