Cleva H. Moore, 69, of 270 Young's Cove Rd., Candler, died on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at her residence. A native of Madison Co., she was a daughter of the late Noah Clifford and Julia Shook Hensley. Mrs. Moore had retired as a certified nurse's assistant, working with Dr. Herbert McCall, and Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. She was a member of White Rock Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Estel Eugene "Gene" Moore; daughter, Pam Tessier and husband Tim, of Greensboro; son, Ronald Moore, of Charleston, SC; and grandchildren, Katie and Casey Holder, of Santa Barbara, CA, and Gregory Tessier, of Greensboro. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Revs. Robert Oliver and Adam Vernon officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to White Rock Baptist Church, 20 White Rock Church Rd., Candler, NC 28715.

  1. I just lost the best friend I have had in long time.Cleva was never too busy to read my emails and was always doing things for me and others. She had a most kind loving heart and I miss her so much but know the long sickness she has endured and know she is at peace. Goodbye my dearest friend. See you soon again. Arletta
