Darlene Matthews Hill

Darlene Doraina Matthews Hill, 50, of Asheville, died Thursday, December 15, 2005, at her home. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Eva Matthews Henderson and step-daughter of the late Roy Henderson. She was a graduate of Cecils Business College and worked at the Pizza Hut in Biltmore. She attended Pole Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include three children, Jennifer Hawkins, Elizabeth Hawkins and Larry J. Hawkins, Jr., all of Asheville; a sister, Elizabeth Henderson of Asheville; two brothers, Randall Henderson and Roy Henderson, both of Asheville; eight grandchildren and an adopted daughter, Nicole Thompson of Asheville. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Alf Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Eliada Home Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
