Our hearts break knowing we are not with Marcy, Tom and Bonnie at this sad time. To say we share their loss is an understatement. There can’t be another couple so adored by their family and friends. As much as we hope to come to Ashville at some future time we already know it will never be the same. We so wish we could hear the tributes to Dave and Judy. David was my mother’s youngest sibling; he was meaningful in all our lives, especially to my brother Jack who became a second father when he was needed. I still have some of Judy’s recipes and use them! We cherish the times we spent with them in Florida and will cherish our times together in Ashville. In some ways they were trendsetters–they traveled everywhere and were unique in showing how families can pool resources and talents and live together. Judy was always ready for a new book list; she was an avid reader, and David’s ingenuity led to his creating all kinds of gadgets and devices and then in recent years buying out Amazon for wonderful models of famous buildings. Maybe when no more were available, it was a sign that he had nothing more to do Significantly they had animals, dogs and cats. Why is this significant? Simply because they were so loving–that love had to be expressed–an outpouring– even with pets! So from far away we grieve, so wishing we could be with our beloved cousins, so grateful for the way they cared for their parents during this difficult time. We pray there is comfort knowing they were blessed with so many years–so much time–with their exceptional, beloved parents. Eddie and I hope we can continue to find our way to Ashville to share our memories of Dave and Judy.
My Uncle Dave, youngest brother of my mother Rhea, was a very loving and special human being. He was always concerned about everyone else’s happiness. He and my Aunt Judy were so lucky to have each other for so many beautiful years and I will miss them so very much. I hope they are resting in peace now and enjoying their next adventure together.
My heart is there with you today.
