David Loyd Ponder

ASHEVILLE – David L. Ponder, 66, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Mr. Ponder was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Garfield and Oleta McDevitt Ponder. He was an Air Force veteran and a retired finance manager. He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Kelly and her husband, Jerry; a son, Kevin Ponder and his wife, Stacey; seven grandchildren, David Hines and wife, Lisa, Heather and Austin Hines, and Jordyn Brynildsen and Reagan, Riley and Reece Ponder; three great-grandchildren, Caiden Hines, Colten Hines, and Layla Shoffner; and a brother, Leonard Ponder; and special friends Marsha Coleman and Charlie Ray. Graveside rites are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Ashelawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
