David William Young

Mr. Young was born in Buncombe County and was a son of Hattie H. Harrison of Waynesville and the late Charles Edom Williams. He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Williams, formerly of Aberdeen, WA.

He was a resident of Winnabow, NC for 26 years until returning to Buncombe County this year. He was the owner of the Trading Post in Winnabow and was a member of Peace Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Paula Galloway of Asheville and Bonni Sigmon of Arden; four granddaughters, Maegan Henson and Amber Galloway of Asheville, Courtney Smith of Charlotte, and Carrington Sigmon of Arden; three great-grandchildren, Jakob, Brennon and Carson; three sisters, Barbara Miller of Canton, Nancy Watkins of California, and Mary Lillegard of Grayland, Washington; and two brothers, Harry Williams of Candler and Danny Williams of Jodie, WV.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Green Hills Cemetery.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
