Dean Randall Plemmons, 59, of Candler, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Mission Hospital.

A native of Buncombe Co., Dean was a son of Betty Swann Plemmons and of the late Jerry Randall Plemmons. He was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church, and worked for Leonard’s Auto Mart.

In addition to his mother, Dean is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ann Griffin Plemmons; daughter, Summer Collins (Randy); son, Shane Plemmons (Kelli); grandchildren, Austin Collins and Vanessa Sprouse (Aaron); great-granddaughter, Oakley Sprouse; sisters, Michelle Carter (Gary) and Lynn Morgan Plemmons; brother, Dale Plemmons (Heather); and multiple nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ben Heise and the Rev. Chase Harris officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. His family requests that everyone in attendance please wear a mask.

He never saw a chance to help someone in need that he would not run toward that need. He will be missed. Gain your peace and understanding of his passing by filling your hearts with the Lord.   17. Uncle Dean was an amazing Godly man. I can still hear him saying “Hey sweetheart” with a big hug like clockwork every time we saw him. To my family, I am praying for you all fervently that Christ will provide everyone comfort and peace through this incredibly difficult time. We can find hope in knowing Uncle Dean is celebrating with Christ in Heaven. We love you all and Uncle Dean will be incredibly missed!
