Born in: Wilmington, NC
Resided in: Leicester, NC

Debbie Lee Butler, 57, of Leicester, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022.

A native of Wilmington, NC, Debbie was a daughter of the late Matthew and Terry Jordan. She was also preceded by her husband, Mack Butler, and by brothers Ricky and Norman Jordan. Surviving are her children, Matthew Meekins and Lilith Ingram (John); grand fur babies, Greta Bug and Miss Kitty; sister, Patsy Jordan; and great-nephew, Nick Padgett.

Debbie enjoyed riding across the country on an 18-wheeler with her husband Mack. She also enjoyed her sweet tea, Sundrop, and Reese cups. She loved the road, seeing and experiencing new things, and telling stories of her journeys. She passed her wisdom of life and gave guidance to all who needed it. She was loved and a loving, intelligent, creative, and kind woman who would stand up for herself and others. She was a best friend and loving devoted mother!

“We have never known what true loss or pain was until the day our mother rejoined our brothers, sisters, her brothers, and mother and father in heaven. She left two strong-willed children who would do anything for her, even taking care of one another in her absence. She was one of a kind and had this uncanny ability to walk into any place and make you feel loved, special and perfect. She loved us unconditionally as a mother should while having the daunting task of raising two children seem effortless in this world. The hole left in our hearts by her passing will never be filled. We only now see how vast that void is without her smile, touch, and comforting words of solace and reassurance. We wait on the day to be reunited with her so that the emptiness she left in our lives after passing may be once again filled with her presence that gave us life on earth. – Matthew”
