Deborah Ann Siewert Ewald “Debbie,” 73, passed away gracefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

Debbie was born in St. Joseph, Michigan, to the late Geraldine Frances Wright Siewert and Oliver Ralph Siewert. One of five siblings, she enjoyed growing up on Lake Michigan swimming, water skiing, and enjoying the lake. It was on Lake Michigan that she met her husband, Bill.

Debbie attended Lakeshore High School and went on to receive her B.A. and M.A. in Education from Western Michigan University. Debbie taught elementary school for many years, ultimately becoming the Admissions Director at Carolina Day School in Asheville. After her career in education, Debbie joined forces with her husband Bill to create a successful business, Skyland Tool and Mold.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Ewald; a daughter, Andrea Stuart (Will); a son, Gregory Ewald (Raquel); two brothers, Scott Siewert and Gregory Parrish; one sister, Denise Jones; and four grandchildren, Bernado Ewald, Gabe Ewald, Noelle Stuart and Cameron Stuart. Her grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life, and being a grandma was her favorite role of all.
