DeEtta Plemmons Cole

DeEtta Plemmons Cole, 96, formerly of Newfound Road. Leicester, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Brookdale Walden Ridge in Asheville. Born in Madison County, Mrs. Cole was a daughter of the late Henry and Allie Plemmons Gillespie, and she was married to Joseph J. “Jay” Cole, who died in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Judy West and a half-sister, Margaret Dellinger. Mrs. Cole formerly worked at Kellwood and she was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her step-daughter, Nancy Williams, three step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, half nieces and nephews Beth Hawkins, Donna Thornton, Douglas Sisk, John Sisk, Jerry Sisk and Mel Sisk, all of Spartanburg, SC. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
