Delmar Lyle Bray, 80, of Marion, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Bloomington, IL, he was a son of the late Frank Bray and Christina Maxey, and step-mother Dorothy H. Bray. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anna Maria Bartheld Bray, sister Nona I. Ford, and brother Alfred Huntsinger.
Mr. Bray was retired from the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his son, John David Bray; sisters, Marie Heller (William), Faye W. Phillips, and Joy Clay (Alan); brothers Frank W. Bray and Douglas F. Bray; and nieces Susan Mancini and Louise Sharpe.
Funeral services for Mr. Bray will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6th, at the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery chapel, officiated by Harold Creech.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your loved one. I grew up at Liberty Chapel Baptist Church on Liberty Street and attended church with the Bray family for years. I pray for comfort and peace from knowing you will be joined with him again one day.
