Denlow "Bunt" F. Warren a life long resident of Candler , passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 11, 2015. Bunt was born November 25, 1935 in Buncombe County to the late Roy and Nellie Warren. A US Army Veteran he served during the Korean Conflict and later retired after a career in woodworking. Bunt attended Hominy Valley Independent Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant son Kenneth Warren, six brothers and an infant sister. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Wanda Warren, daughters, Anita Broadway (Mike) of North Port, Florida Janet Young (Sam) of Candler; his special Grandson and buddy Grady Young; three sisters, Barbara Briggs (Harold), Londa Young (Kenneth) and Henrietta Hoglen (Jim); and two brothers, Rollins Warren (Beverly) and Vaughn Warren (Leslie). Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Pisgah Methodist Church (Spirit Life Church) on Pisgah Highway with the Revs. Austin Watts and J.D. Gipe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813, or to Hominy Valley Independent Church, PO Box 1957, Candler, NC 28715.

  1. Wanda, Janet, Sam, and Grady, I am so sorry to hear of Bunt’s passing. Bunt was a very kind, interesting man, who loved his family very much. When I first met your family, Grady was just a young fella — and normally when I saw Grady, I saw Bunt. The trips to the DQ for ice cream, fireworks on the 4th, and the campground are all fond memories I have of Bunt and your family. Please know you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Bunt was my friend and I enjoyed talking with him at the lake and going for an ice cream when we had time. I already miss him but know he’s now in heaven and spending his leisure time visiting with Jesus!
