Dennis Graham Glass, 69, of Old Mill Rd., Mars Hill, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Memorial Campus, Mission Hospitals. A native of Oil City, PA, and a resident of Western North Carolina since 1980, he was a son of the late Paul and Bertha Mae Motter Glass. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Glass. Mr. Glass served 11 years in the U.S. Coast Guard. He received a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice from Biscayne College in Miami, FL. He served with the Washington D.C. and Dade Co. Florida police departments. More recently Mr. Glass worked in consumer finance for Capitol Credit. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and an active member of St. Lawrence Basilica, D.M., where his heart was in support of the Pro Life Ministry. Mr. Glass is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Glass; daughters, Amanda DeLauter and husband Donnie of Frostburg, MD, and Katherine Vrazel and husband, James, of Pass Christian, MS; grandchildren, Max DeLauter, Dom Vrazel, Nicholas DeLauter, Elena Vrazel, Ben DeLauter, Alex Vrazel, and "Baby" DeLauter; and a brother, Lowell Glass and his wife, Gerry, of Virginia Beach, VA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Wilbur N. Thomas, V.F., Friday, June 1, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at the Basilica of St. Lawrence, D.M. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave, with visitation following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration, St. Joseph Adoration Monastery, 3452 Willow Oak Pl, Charlotte, NC 28209.

  1. Aunt Pat and family. I know this is a time of sorrow for all of you. I know He will be missed as a husband,father,grandfather. I had many good memories of him in the early years of my life. He was a good man and my prayers and thoughts are with you now as you go through this time of sadness.
