Judy "Diane" Willis, 56, of 24 Kay Lou Lane, Arden, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Memorial Campus, Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe Co., Ms. Willis was a daughter of the late James Edwin and Lois Blankenship Willis. Ms. Willis worked as a department manager at K-Mart of Skyland, with 20 years service. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Ron Dula, and step-brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Alma Price, all of Asheville; step-mother, Lessie Waldroup Willis, of Asheville; her long-time partner, Stephen Calloway; aunt, Jo Lena and husband Ray Moore, of Traveler's Rest, SC; uncle, David and wife Becky Willis, of Marshall; nephews, Russell and Scott Dula, of Asheville; Godchildren, Matthew and Stephanie Brown, of Candler; and a number of cousins and close friends. A memorial service for Ms. Willis will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Leonard Cole officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 16-A Brozzini Court, Greenville, SC 29615.

  7. Bev, You may not remember me but when we were kids our Dads were guitar pickin friends. I remember you and Diane saved lots of pennies, I thought you all were rich then.I saw Diane off and on thur the years. I was so sad to hear of her passing. We were the same age.My prayer is that Jesus will calm your sad hearts thur this time of sorrow.
