Dollie Boone Trantham, 87, of 23 Edwards Road, Fairview, died Sunday, August 7, 2005, at Parkridge Hospital. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Mack Edward and Anzie Chrisawn Boone. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years here on earth, Broades Harold Trantham, with whom she is reunited. They are now together forever in heaven for eternity after a brief three weeks apart. Also preceding her are eight brothers and sisters; a grandson Johnathan Shane Owenby and a grand-son-in-law Dustin James Shelton. Mrs. Trantham is survived by one daughter, Millie Trantham Owenby and her husband Johnny of Fairview; two granddaughters, Monica Dawn Gunter and her husband Frank of Fairview and Mendi Shelton Rice and her husband Norman “Scrappy” of Pisgah Forest; six great-grandchildren, Seth Shelton, Jeremiah Shelton, Dylan Rice, Eli Rice, Tyler Gunter and Devin Gunter; a sister, Beulah Suddreth and her husband B.A. of Candler and a nephew she and her husband raised, Billy Swayney and his wife Elaine, their son Brian Swayney and his wife Dawn. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Jeff Bowen and Charles Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery with Frank Gunter, Scrappy Rice, Jimmy Suddreth, Billy Swayney, Don Suddreth and Clifford Boone serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home at 23 Edwards Road, Fairview.

    Please know that our prayers and thoughts are with you once again with the passing of Aunt Dollie. God kept them together on earth and now they are together once more. It will be difficult to look at their house when we return home knowing they are not there; but we know that now they are sharing a more beautiful home in a wonderful place!
