I know I’m a little late with this, but wanted to let you know how much this man meant to me. I am the daughter of Patsy (Pat)Gilliland who worked with Sgambati at Strawberry Hill. I didn’t have a father when I was little and Sgambati (that’s what I called him) was a sweet and generous man to me. One of my fondest memories of him are the times that he would bring Howard Johnson ice cream to me. Not just plain flavors either – ALL kinds! For his love and kindness I will ever be greatful and will always remember him with fondness.
please accept my condolances on
the passing of dominick. he was my
supervisor at strawberry hill press
when i worked there from nov 1973
until aug 1974. i was 18 yrs old at that time. he was a positve
influnce on me and treated me with
decency and respect.iwas young then
and job hopping but i have never
forgotten dominick or the other folks that worked at the plant at that time. i have seen dominick
out in public many times after i
left and he always took the time
to talk to me and ask about my wife
(we were married while i was at
strawberry hill—june 1974)and my
children and how i had done with my employment since 1974 until i last saw him about 2 yrs. ago. i currently work in a local envoromental field and again his
influnce when i was young helped.

I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR OF MR. SGAMBATI PASSING AWAY. I HAVE ENJOYED TALKING TO MR. & MRS. SGAMBATI AT ASHEVILLE EYE WHEN IT WAS MY PLEASURE TO CHECK THEM OUT AFTER THEIR APPOINTMENTS. WE DISCOVERED THAT I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH SYLVIA AT HAW CREEK SCHOOL! I WAS BEVERLEY JOAN PRUITT, THEN.
MY HEART IS WITH YOU ALL DURING THIS TIME. I WILL MISS OUR CHATS.
