Donald Edmund McKinley, 79, of 60 Vandalia Ave., died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at the Elizabeth House.
A native of Oil City, PA, he was a son of the late Edmund F. McKinley and Clavotis Graham McKinley. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother who raised him, Rozelia McKinley.
Mr. McKinley retired as a master mechanic. He was formerly employed with United Air Lines. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by daughters Belinda London and her husband, Jim, of Candler and Debby McKinley of Asheville; a son, Michael McKinley of Asheville; grandchildren Marc Fender, Jason Fender and his wife, Sheila, Joe Cole and his wife, Michelle, and Michael C. McKinley; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Beverly Ball of CA and Lynda Reimann and her husband, Jim, of NY; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date.
The family will gather at the homes of his daughters until Friday, August 3.
A special thanks to former wife Donna McKinley for caring for him in his final days.
