Arden ~ Donald Eugene Quakenbush, 69, of Rosetta Lane, Arden, died on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 in a local hospital.
He was born in Buncombe County and was the son of the late Atwood Quakenbush and Clara Penland Surrett. He was employed by Buncombe County Parks and Recreation.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Lanning Quakenbush of Arden; two daughters, Kelly Pippin of Arden and Kim Wilkie of Horse Shoe; a son, Keith Quakenbush of Arden; four grandchildren, Lau-ren, Aubrie, Kassidi and Kaitlyn; a sister, Pat Parker of Asheville.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday 3:00 P.M. in Green Hills Cemetery with Pastor Carl Bishop officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Words of Life Tabernacle Building Fund, 815 Glen Bridge Road, Arden, NC 28704.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road is in charge of arrangements.
