Donald Leroy Brown, 84, of 20 Alpine Way, Asheville, died Saturday, December 20, 2003, at Hospice Solace Center.
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Claude W. and Della Gillespie Brown. He was the owner of Don’s Gun Shop, an instrument specialist with the US Army Air Corps during WWII and a member of Groce United Methodist Church for 47 years.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Mary Torberlin Brown; a son, Ronnie Brown of Asheville; a brother, Jack Brown of Morganton and a grandson, Dennis Brown.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Groce United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
Mary Dean & Ronnie, I am very sorry to learn of Dons death. I want You both to know You are in my thoughts and Prayers. I Hope to visit with You on Tuesday. If I can do anything for You please let me know. I am in the book. For now God Bless. Mickey
