Doris Elizabeth Bruckhart Cooper, 77, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Mission Hospital. Mrs. Cooper was born in Lancaster County, PA to the late John and Anna Bruckhart. Doris deeply loved the Lord, her family, friends and her church. She was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church in Fairview and joyfully embraced life. She was a huge servant of people, always putting herself second. She had a keen wit and sense of humor; and loved unconditionally. After a career at the VA Medical Center, she remained active volunteering at the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove. She will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Bill Cooper, Jr.; two children, Billy Cooper and his wife, Angie and Renee Cooper and her life partner, Perry Fisher; three brothers, Luke Bruckhart and his wife, Eileen, Dale Bruckhart and his wife, Dottie and Clair Bruckhart and his wife, Hope; five grandchildren, Riley Cooper, Olivia Cooper, Caroline Furman, Matthew Furman and Chad Sales and one brother-in-law, Alan Cooper and his wife, Mary Jane. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Pastor Todd Royal officiating. Burial will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
