Dorothy Ann Brown
July 28, 1923 ~ December 11, 2000

Mrs. Brown was born in Murphy and was a daughter of the late W.O. and Braska McClure Lovingood. She was also preceded in death by her husband Berlin Brown and by a son, Carl K. Cope. She was a former nurses aide at Memorial Mission Hospital and was a member of Maple Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, E. Ray Cope of Winston-Salem, Ronald A. Cope of Lufkin, TX, and Carroll W. Cope of Abingdon, VA; four step-children, Wanda Trull, J.D. Brown, Frank Brown, and Myrtle B. Hilton; one sister, Frankie Wilson of Candler; one brother, Hayes Lovingood of Candler; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and eight nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Claude Surrett and Steve Fox and Preacher Pat Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm Friday at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Marian, VA.
