Dorothy Foster Huston, age 94, died at Givens Estates in Asheville on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
Born March 27, 1921 in Ft. Worth TX to Bertha and Clifford Foster, she graduated from Amon Carter Riverside High School. After high school, she married James Carl Huston. She worked as an assistant buyer at Montgomery Ward, teller at Riverside State Bank, secretary at Riverside Christian Church, and as a teacher's aide for special children in the Fort Worth Independent School District.
She was very involved in Riverside Christian Church and served as President of the Christian Women's Fellowship, Elder, choir member, and Sunday School teacher. She and her husband J.C. served as advisors to the church's youth organizations. They enjoyed traveling and fishing together.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Beverly and Joe Sgro of Asheville; grandson, Dr. Anthony Sgro, his wife Faulkner and great-grandchildren, Huston, Grazia and Bagley, all of Rabun Gap, GA and granddaughter Jennifer Orfield and her husband Robert of Richmond, VA.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ft. Worth, TX. A memorial service was held on September 19, 2015 in the Pulliam Chapel at Givens Estates.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family with local arrangements.

I was so sorry to hear Dorothy had died. She was a special cousin and I’m sorry that I didn’t stay in closer contact after she left Ft Worth. My sincere sympathies to Beverly and the family
