Dorothy Virginia Amos Blankenship, 83, of Ridgecrest, NC, died Monday, July 18, 2016.
Mrs. Blankenship was the wife of Harold Lewis Blankenship. She is also survived by her sons, Dan and Frank Blankenship. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ginny Blankenship.
A Celebration/ Thanksgiving for Life service will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Black Mountain.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baptist Children's Homes, www.bchfamily.org.

Harold and Family,
My condolences to you all in the passing of Dot, wife and mother. In my years as a pastor I don’t think I’ve ever known a more encouraging, caring and warm pastor and wife team as you Harold and Dot. There is something you both have that says ‘God is Good!’ I’m richer for having known you both.
What a joy to know Dot is rejoicing with her Lord; but, indeed, she will be missed here. I have always admired both Harold and Dot and the servant hearts that they have shared with so many. I think of the beautiful spirit Dot always had as she taught ESL through the years. What a difference she made not only in teaching others to understand the English language but also as she shared her faith. I am thankful for having known such a gracious lady who loved the Lord and loved her ‘Rock’.
